Their journey began when they were introduced at a job, where they quickly bonded over their shared frustrations with the lack of creative freedom in the fashion industry. Determined to carve out their own path, they made the bold decision to launch MACEL.

The name MACEL originates from the initials of the four designers involved in founding the brand. "M" stands for "made by", while "A", "C", "E", and "L" represent the first initials of the designers: Aoi, Chiaki, Eunice, and Leona respectively. Together, these initials form MACEL, symbolizing the collaborative effort and individual contributions of each designer to the brand.

United by their love for honest work and the joy of creating, these visionary designers embarked on a journey to redefine everyday style while celebrating casual elegance.
